Neon Striping Tape Fun!!

Hello love muffins, I am happy to say I am finally the owner of a MacBook Air and blogging just got a whole lot easier!  The computer I was working with before was a disaster! It would take me hours just to get one post done because it was such a piece of crapola.  I am swimming in happiness right now and just had to share with you all!

So on to the nails, that's why we are all here right?  Who wants to hear about my computer woes?  Certainly not me!  Let's get crack a lackin on the nail art, focus your ass Nicole!

So I was staring at my Essie collection and trying to decide which gorgeous color to use next.  Of course I couldn't make up my mind so I decided to use 2 of my favorites and I must say, by the time I was done I was ready to smack a few mama's and deck a baby into next week!

Yummy yummy in my tummy tummy!  I combined In the Cab-ana and Cute as a Button. Turned out pretty nice considering I started with no plan at all!

On my index and pinky finger I just crisscrossed striping tape over a white base and filled in the little "diamonds" with both colors, being careful to stay in the lines. (Suddenly I was back in kindergarten and I pictured a nun with a ruler ready to slap me into the wall if I made a mistake! EEK)

On my ring and middle fingers, I just slapped on some dots and called it a day!  If you're curious how to do either of these forms of nail art,  check out my YouTube Channel for tutorials on both methods. (shameless plug I know but a girls gotta promote herself once in a while....don't judge me people)

I have so many pictures ready for the blog, it's not even funny!  Dot has been pissed because blogging has taken a backseat due to Blogger issues and computer difficulties.  Happily both of these snags have been fixed and I cannot wait to get my large ass back in the swing of things!!

You guys very well may get sick of me posting.  I can't seem to put my new toy down.  5 posts a day a bit excessive you say?  We'll just see about that!!

I'm also happy to report that tomorrow begins my "blog revival".  I am going to update a few things and just basically clean up my blog.  Maybe some new tabs or something super exciting like that.  (yes I have no life, again with the judging, sheesh!)

If you guys try this out, please please tag me in your pic or tweet me or something high tech like that!

Happy Polishing my kittens!!

A Super Duper Kitchen Sinker

Hi loves, this is gonna be short and sweet. I am so crazy busy today but I wanted to get a quick post done for my home skillets.

If you're all just tuning in, a kitchen sink mani is one that includes a little bit of everything. Everything but the kitchen sink. Get it?

This mani I am showing you all today is seriously busy. I actually think the kitchen sink MAY be included with this one!

I used OPI Can't Find my Czechbook and OPI Eurso Euro from the new Euro Centrale Collection. I am loving this collection!!!

I used INM Northern Lights as a topper on my index and pinky.

Cloud Mani tutorial is coming very very soon!! Pinky swear! Enjoy loves!!

Happy Polishing!!

Illamasqua Spam and a Whole Lot of Mama Slapping!

Hello dolls, are we all glad it's Friday?? I know I am!! We are expecting a snow storm this weekend so you all will probably be bombarded with nails from this girl.  My kids are with my mom so that leaves 2 days of whatever the H E double hockey sticks I want!

I had a Sephora store credit left over from Christmas time so I went in and purchased a few Illamasqua polishes and I couldn't be happier.  I don't have much experience with this brand but from what I have seen I am definitely drinking the kool aid!

And don't fret...I threw in a little nail art so you guys wouldn't get antsy and rebel!

Swatch pics are 2 coats, no topcoat..... nail art pics are topcoated with Seche Vite.

First up is Lament:

I accidentally deleted some pics before uploading so there's not a ton of photo spammage today but this baby is front and center for some nail art so bear with me.

Isn't she a beaut?  The color may not be too unique, I mean we have all seen a gorgeous neon peachy coral before, but the formula on this baby makes me want to punch someone in the face!  She dried to a gorgeous shiny finish, no topcoat needed.  This beauty is gonna be on my tootsies ASAP!

Jo'mina:

Shut the front door....before I beat the piss out of someone!  I know a polish is gorgeous when I want to smother anyone in a 5 mile radius just because I'm so fucking excited!

I almost didn't buy this one because I already have so much purple.  Thank the sweet Lord above that I did.  I am totes in love with this polish!  The formula applied like heaven in a bottle and the color is such a gorgeous shade of bright lilac.  It is very similar to my favorite polish ever, Sation Tardy Tart...a true momma slapper..(.I think I will do a comparison post at some point).   I can easily see this becoming my go to purple.  2013 just started but I can guarantee this baby and the one your about to see will be in my tops of the year!!

Muse:

Do I even need to say anything? My mother is in a fucking coma and the kids are next!!  I'm slapping bitches like it's my job!  I can't help it, I just get so excited when a polish is this amazing.  Not only is the color perfect but the formula was divine!  I bitched about having to spend $15 on this polish but let me tell you what....after using it, I'd sell my soul to the devil for this little dumpling of goodness!

Amazing color, amazing formula....if you're looking for a good polish, this is the girl for you!  Well worth the higher price tag!

I couldn't let these babies go without a little nail art.  I used Lament and Jo'mina....I will have an upcoming post of nail art using Muse. She deserves her own post don't ya agree?

Just some random dots.  These 2 colors play so well together!

It's been so long since I've done a cloud mani.  If you aren't familiar with this method, you can see the tutorial here.  It looks so hard but I promise you it is very simple.  You're just using the polish brush and making one swipe down the nail for each "puff" of the cloud.  The hardest part is getting the right amount of polish on the brush.  You have to have enough to get the rounded look at the bottom but not too much or it will be too thick on the nail.  Practice makes perfect though and the color combinations for this one are endless!

What do you guys think of these beauties? Are you as in love with them as I am?

Illamasqua can be purchased at Sephora and directly from Illamasqua.  I'm sure there are many other places on the web but these are the 2 main ones that I know of.  A google search will pop up everything you need.

Make sure you check my Youtube channel this weekend....2 new videos will be up!

Happy Polishing Dolls!

Kitchen Sink Saturdays....literally??

Hi love muffins, I'm kind of excited tonight and I'll tell you why....my momma stopped by with bagfuls and bagfuls of makeup and fun stuff for her one and only child!  (Pics on Instagram, of course).  I have so many goodies to play with this weekend, I'm quite excited!  After all the mama slapping I have done to that poor woman, this is how I'm rewarded!  I knew secretly she enjoyed it!

So today we are talking kitchen sink mani's.  I posted a while ago and let you guys know that a few of us were doing "Kitchen Sink Saturdays" which is basically posting your mish mash, little bit of everything mani to Twitter, Instagram, your blog, wherever you choose!

For those of you not aware, a kitchen sink mani is a manicure that includes everything "but the kitchen sink".  It's a glitter nail and a polka dot nail, or a pink nail and a blue and a purple, gradients....yeah you guys get the picture.  So be sure to use the hashtag #kitchensinksaturday and get those mani's posted! And be sure to check out my homies AmandaInky and Wes who will also be joining in.

Here's a cheeky little picture I took to introduce everyone to Kitchen Sink Saturday....with what else....the kitchen sink!

I know I'm looking a little "orangey" in these pics, but I had to use weird lighting to try to get the purple to show up correctly, and I repeat, try!  No I didn't go Jersey Shore on everyone!

I used Sation Miss Emo Shun All for my base color.  She is such a gorgeous purple that dries to a matte rubbery finish but comes alive with topcoat. This picture has been filtered to show the true color of the polish--she was a real bitch to photograph, I tell ya!

Holy shit, from orange to vampire white, you're killin it tonight Nicole!  It's not my fault though, I'm blaming this whore of a polish.  And I mean that in the nicest possible way!

I used Milani Silver Stilettos for my silver accents.  The glitter gradient on my middle finger was done with China Glaze Polarized.  I must admit I threw this together at the last minute realizing I had nothing prepared for KSS.  I am quite happy with how the bitch turned out!

Here's another kitchen sink mani I posted on Instagram the other day.  She's so cute I just couldn't leave her out. So you guys get double KSS today...I'm feeling quite generous, take it while you can get it!

I must admit I slapped the taste out of my momma's mouth over this one, I was quite happy with how she turned out!  I used a crap load of polishes so I will just list them for you one by one.  Otherwise I will talk forever, you guys know how I get, slappin mama's and shit.

Pinky-Nicole by OPI If the Blue Fits
Ring-Essie Sugar Daddy, Polished by KPT Ella Bleu, Northern Lights
Middle-Essie Bikini So Teeny, NOPI If the Blue Fits, INM Northern Lights
Index-Selena Gomez for NOPI-Naturally, Essie Bikini So Teeny, NOPI If the Blue Fits

So there you have it kids!  Make sure to post your kitchen sink lovelies on Twitter, Instagram, Tumbler, the billboard at the local gas station....hashtag #kitchensinksaturday.

Don't forget to check out my YouTube Channel, YoungWildandPolished!! 2 new video's coming tomorrow!!

Happy Polishing loves!!

Selena Gomez for NOPI....and a milestone!

I posted a few days ago from my phone not realizing that it was my 100th post!  That crappy little post I did doesn't deserve to be my big 100th so we are going to pretend it never happened and celebrate today.  (No comments from the peanut gallery)

I will be posting twice today, first with some of the new Selena Gomez for NOPI Collection and later with some favorites and resolutions!

Today we will take a look at 4 pretty little ladies....

Hit the Lights:

Ahhh, a bright saturated yellow, sign me up!  Of course this one was a little finicky, it's yellow after all.  But overall it was pretty darn good.  There was a little pulling and streaking but that is to be expected.  3 careful coats and we were all good!  I love this color with my skin tone!  I have to be careful of yellow with my olive complexion but this is definitely one I will be grabbing come summer time!  This little beauty also will be great for nail art!  I can easily say I don't have another color like this in my enormous collection, and that is saying something!

Above pics are 3 coats, no topcoat.

Pretty in Plum:

Ok, before I say anything, let me just get this out in the open....this gorgeous sexy mama is a 1 coater, yes a 1 coater.  I used 2 but I really didn't need to and now I wish I wouldn't have.  I was just so enamored with this color, and the formula was so perfect that I wanted to keep playing with it.

I'm a sucker for a deep sexy plum color like this.  I love the way it looks with my skin tone and I love how easily this polish applied.  Definitely a favorite of this collection!

2 thin coats no topcoat.  As I said, you could easily get away with 1 coat.

Love Song:

Love song is a creamy easy purple that went on like buttah baby!  I was disappointed at the lack of shimmer once the polish is on the nail.  What is seen in the bottle definitely does not translate to the nail.  This one reminded me of a mix between Essie Play Date and Sation Tardy Tart.

I'm not jumping for joy over this one, just your basic pretty purple polish.  Above pics are 2 coats, no topcoat.

Selena:

Finally, we have a mama slapper.  After I slapped my mammy into next week, I did a backflip and stuck the mother lovin landing!  I LOVE THIS COLOR!!  The formula on this one was really good, there was a tiny bit of pulling but nothing that I couldn't fix with a 3rd coat.  Creamy, saturated, bright, yes, yes, where do I sign up for more of these babies??

Easily my favorite of the bunch.  3 coats, no topcoat.

I was so thrilled with Selena that I couldn't bear to take her off without first doing a little nail art.  After all this swatching, I was dying to pull out some tape, a dotter, anything, please just let me do some nail art!!!

Isn't this just adorable?  I was pleasantly surprised how well this turned out.

After topcoating Selena with Seche Vite, I added a little striping tape.  Love Song was my choice for 2nd polish and she served me well.  I was a little worried how well she would cover, but I had absolutely no issues.

And yes, I did slap a mama after this one....my mother was already laid up from the Selena incident so I just picked a random to abuse.  I feel much better now!

There you have it kids, the beginning and probably my favorites of this collection.  I will have the rest for you in the coming days, along with the new Modern Family Collection and the Mariah Carey for OPI Line.  Wow, the polish Gods have been busy lately!

I'm pretty darn proud of myself for making it to 100 posts!  In my extremely busy life, finding the time to blog shows me just how much I love doing it and just how much it means to me.  It may just be nail polish to some, but this whole experience has been so much more for me.  I have said it before but I am in such an elite class of women and I am so happy to be sharing this ride with them all!

Watch for my Top 20 polishes of 2012 coming up later!

Dots for Dot!

So most of you know my alter ego Dot. She is a real hot mess. Demanding, obnoxious and a royal bitch. Well she has been a little annoyed with my lack of dotticures so I did this one to appease her nasty ass.

Keep in mind I am still blogging from my phone so all pictures will be at the end of this post. Stupid stupid stupid. A new laptop better be in Santa's sleigh!

I used Essie Mint Candy Apple for this mama slapper. This is a classic color and one of Essies best ever! Light green, creamy heaven in a bottle. I used 3 coats but could have gotten by with 2. Glitter nail is China Glaze Glistening Snow. I love this polish do hard I want to punch my own lights out. Dot accent is done with Layla Ceramic Effect in Pure Black and OPi My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

If you decide to slap a mama over this one, make sure that you wish them a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa or whatever floats your holiday boat. Wouldn't want people to think you are rude now would you?!

Happy Polishing Loves!

Dot's Attitude and a little Cattitude!

What up home skillets? I'm a little wound up tonight, so I apologize if I offend anyone.  I had way too many Salted Caramel Mocha's but a girl has to get through the day right? Starbucks is within walking distance of my job and let me tell ya, that is a dangerous thing!  Although there was a nasty biatch in there today who argued with me about my nails.  She pretty much told me I was lying when I told her I did the nail art myself.  I bitch slapped her (well at least I wanted to) and we kept it moving!  Sometimes people are so rude, makes me want to lock myself in my house and snuggle with my polishes, avoiding humans at all costs!

Ahem...

A few weeks ago on SneakPeeq, (an amazing site by the way) they were selling a set of polishes from the OPI Shrek Collection that I had been wanting for a long time, so I ordered....and I received these little love muffins a few days ago.  I was so excited to use them and I couldn't decided which one I wanted to play with first....so I used them all!  Here's a pic of my pretty little babies and then we'll talk business!

Who the Shrek are You (Green)
Ogre the Top Blue (Bright Blue)
What's with the Cattitude? (Light Blue)

Dot (my alter ego and the biggest bitch you will ever meet) was feeling a little out of sorts because she hadn't gotten the chance to flex her muscle and use her dotting tools lately.  So I let her come out and play, and play she did.  The heffer went a little crazy....

Oh hello large picture that doesn't fit

I'm not going to get into major detail on the colors, I used them all on every finger.  I alternated the base color and then used the 2 remaining colors to dot.  I used my largest dotting tool for the big dots and one of my tinier dotters for the little "in between" dots.

The formula on all 3 of these polishes is quite nice, but they're OPI, the formula is always amazing!  I did have to do 3 coats of Who the Shrek are You because it was a little thin.  It was well worth it though!  What a perfect color!  I love the ones that are so ugly they're pretty!  Can't wait to do a full mani with Ms. Ugly!

I did smack my momma when I pulled out What's with the Cattitude.  I love this shade of blue and the formula was sweeeet!! I didn't go too crazy though, the poor woman is still laid up from my Layla Swatch Day!  THAT was not a fun day, well for her, I must say I had a blast!

What do you guys think of this mani? Does it look like Shrek has a bad case of warts?  Did Dot go overboard?   If you are looking for a simple design to do, these dots are super simple!  I put a few large dots spaced out, leaving a good amount of room in between.  Then I add smaller sized dots in the remaining spaces.  It really is fool proof!

Hope you guys enjoyed!

Happy Polishing Loves,  thanks for letting Dot play!!

A Pre Thanksgiving Momma Smacker!

Hello my loves, I did not desert you....my internet was out for the past week.  I could only pick up wifi on my phone and I'm not smart enough to know how to blog from my phone yet.  So I apologize, I did so many cute nail designs this past week and was so upset I couldn't share with my little nail freaks!  I did post on Instagram, so hopefully you all follow me on there. There are so many momma smacking polishes and nail art that we need to discuss, I may have to blog twice a day for awhile!

Ok, fun stuff now...NAILS!! I did this mani a few days ago, kind of by accident but I really like how it turned out!  Have a peek then we'll chat...

The day after I did these someone on IG actually told me it was Mickey's birthday!  What a coincidence!!  Happy Belated Birthday Micks!!!

This mani started when I swatched Essie She's Pampered, which is the red I used in this design.  I put it on all my nails and said to myself, "holy balls, this polish is gorgeous and it's screaming for Mickey ears".  Not word for word but you get the drift. The accent nail is done with OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Milani Black Swift.  This is one of the cutest designs I have ever done but it looks so time consuming right?  I did my regular old dots on 3 of the 4 fingers.  On the accent nail I put on 2 coats of MBSW and let that dry.  I then added a few large dots with Black Swift.  Before the dots dried, I took my medium dotter and added the ears by making 2 small dots beside each other.  See, super simple but totes adorbs.  ( I really hate myself for using that phrase but for some reason I can't erase it, don't judge me people.)

This was my first ever Disney or cartoon-ey nail art.  I am quite happy with how it turned out.  Anyone can do this mani, I promise it is not hard.  If you guys do try it, make sure to tag me in it!! I love seeing everyone's nail art!

One more quick thing before I peace out....The other day I got a message on Twitter from my friend Susan.

Those are my nails on Orly's Official Facebook Page!!!!

Can you guys believe this?  Orly chose my picture to feature on their FB page!  I was/am so beyond excited and flattered.  It really is an honor to have a major brand feature my lil ol nails!   I still have a hard time believing that people are really truly interested in what I do with my nails. It really makes me so happy and inspired more than you know!

Thank you guys for sticking by me even though I ditched you all this past week.... not by choice!  I am so happy to be back in bidnizzz!! Lots of kick ass nails to come....I hope you guys have an amazing Thanksgiving.  Stuff your sweet little faces full of turkey!

Happy Polishing and Happy Turkey Day!!!

Delicate Flower Mani...and the Usual Weekend Psychosis!

Hello loves, is everyone enjoying their Saturday?  I certainly am.  I'm attempting to relax but I have 2 children fighting directly in front of me...they might as well just jump on my face and wrestle there... and another child telling me how much life sucks (He's 16, doesn't everything suck at 16?)

So I retreated to the bathroom, locked the door and pretended I had been struck with a severe intestional illness.  "Don't come close or you will be pooping your brains out"....yeah, they definitely pounded concrete after that comment.  So here I sit on the bathroom floor, peace and quiet all around....I do feel bad for my poor husband downstairs....alone...in the trenches. But this mani I have to show you just can't wait...

You guys.....I freaking LOVE this mani!! It is definitely in my top 5!!  I don't mean to toot my own horn but-- wait, yes I do.  A good self induced horn tooting is good from time to time.  *TOOT*  *TOOT*   I used Butter London Sprog (blue), Essie Yogaga (tan) and Essie I am Strong (pink) for this little delicate flowa.  The index and pinky are simply dotted with a very light hand and a super tiny dotter.  On the middle finger I simply dotted some tiny flowers.  I did them the same way I normally do but I used a much smaller dotter and spaced them out a little bit more.

Sprog is a polish I picked up last week, after eyeing it up for weeks or maybe even months.  It did not disappoint.  Formula was heaven and all I needed were 2 thin coats for perfectly opaque nails.  Yogaga I have used before, it's nothing to write home about, just a basic light tan.  Good coverage, a little streaky.  I definitely will not be slapping my poor mother over this one.  Hasn't she suffered enough for you people?  I am strong, the pretty pink on my ring finger is from Essie's 2012 collection of the same name.  It's a nice pastel pink with decent application.

I am quite proud of this mani.  Who knew Dot could be so delicate?  I will be trying this look out with different color combinations.  I do really like the delicate design paired with the muted colors.  What colors do you think would look good with this delicate nail art?

Happy Polishing and Happy Mama Slapping!!  Now off to save the hubby!

Classicly Dot!!

Hi Dot Fan Club, how are you all today?  I am tired and ready to take my heiney to bed! (After American Horror Story!!!)  But not before I grace you all with my presence and a mani I did that I happen to really really love!!

Last night I was having one of those nights where no polish looked right, nothing was going on right, none of my nail art was cooperating, ughhh so frustrating!  Enter Dot with a solution to the problem.  I think I was trying to do too much.  Once I put away all the fancy polishes and realized this, things went just swimmingly.

I'm trying out different watermarks, which of the 2 do you guys like?

Isn't it just classic and clean looking?  I got so many compliments on this mani today, more than I have received in a long while!  The accent nail really pops against the pretty Tiffany Blue.  So simple, but so life altering. (ok, maybe not life altering, but certainly life improving!!)

I used China Glaze For Audrey for my main color.  I know I say this about a LOT of colors, but this one really is so good!  It's bright, it's crisp, it's definitely in my pile of favorites.  For the accent nail, I (Dot) used, my old faithfuls, Milani High Speed Fast Dry in Black Swift and White on the Spot.  These 2 polishes are so smack you mammy great that I just can't stop using them.  I also can't stop smacking my poor mother, but that is for another day.

What do you dolls think?  I really am happy with this one after all of the crappy luck I had last night.  You will certainly be seeing this same exact mani on these fingers many more times!!

Happy Polishing Nail Freaks!!

Mish Mash Mani aka The Taxicab

Hi loves, how are my peeps?  I realized today driving home from work (at 5:30) that it was already getting dark.....eeek, I want summer back.  I despise winter.  Love Christmas, hate winter.  I hear people in PA say they can't imagine celebrating Christmas in the heat....well, I could.  I can see me and Dot on the beach, sipping an egg nog daiquiri while my hubby did the Christmas shopping.  Yeah THAT'S definitely a dream!

Oh how I digress....the nails, the nails, yes that's why we are here.  So last night when I sat my fine self down to do my nails, I was drawing a bit of a blank.  I knew I wanted to do a mish mash mani (a little bit of everything) but I had no idea what.  Then I remembered that the lovely little Radha from The Polish Owl had sent me Humble Bee by Nail Venturous a few weeks ago and I hadn't tried it yet.  And so this mani was born!

See taxicab nails right?  I know they're a little cray cray (yep, still my favorite word, well technically words, but yeah, um word) but I really love them!  Isn't it nice when a mani turns out better than you thought it would?

The black polish I used for my middle and pinky finger is Milani Black Swift. You guys know I love these Milani High Speed Fast Dry polishes.  This is one coat!!!  It is so good!! It's super shiny and a one coater.  Yeah, I'll definitely sign on the dotted line. On my middle finger I (Dot) slapped on a few white dots with Milani White on the Spot. I tried to keep Dot out of this one but the heffer overpowered me.  She is stronger than she looks, especially when being threatened with a dot free mani.  On my pinky I did a few fun little lines in different directions that just kind of happened.  I didn't want to do more dots, *gasp* and this is what came out when I grabbed my tiny little art brush.  Kinda tribal no?

On my ring finger and thumb I have 2 coats of China Glaze Sunshine Pop.  I'm not a yellow girl, but I do love me some Pop!  It's not a streaky blotchy mess like most yellows and look how bright it is!  I do feel like I should be on stage with a half shaved mohawk and bright red lips rocking out ala Pink or Gwen Stefani.  On top of that I have one coat of Lush Laquer Salt N Peppa, quite possibly my favorite glitter in the history of glitters.  It is so versatile and I can't seem to stop using it. I immediately feel super cool when I have it on.  It's totally bad ass!

On my ring finger I have the beautiful Humble Bee.  I am so excited to own this polish!  I was afraid the formula would suck and I would be very disappointed.  Just the opposite!  It went on like a dream and I am head over heels in love.  I never thought I would say that about a black and yellow polish but alas I am a changed woman!  I did wait about 5 minutes in between coats just to be sure there would be no clumping or pulling, and this did the trick!  All pics are 3 coats of HB with 2 coats of Seche Vite.

Do you guys like this one?  Will you not try this for fear of getting the insatiable urge to drive a cab?  Fear not friends, I still have this mani on as I type and I haven't tried to pick up any strangers, although there was an incident involving Dot and a bread truck driver but that is totally unrelated and for another day.

Humble Bee is sold by Ninja Polish.  It is tough to get but you can get onto an email list to be notified when it is available. Salt n Pepa can be purchased from Lush Lacquer in their Etsy store.  They have many other drool worthy glitter polishes that you must see!!

Also be sure to check out my friend Radha at The Polish Owl.  She rocks!!

Happy Polishing loves....oh and don't forget to tip your driver!
