A Stamping Mani....and a Heart to Heart with my peeps!

Hi loves, I know, I know, it's been forever and a freaking day since I've blogged....I have a confession to make....I have been so uninspired and just blah lately.  I still love everything about nails, polish all that jazz, I just need a pick me up or some new polish or....who knows what. I have been sitting down to do my nails and just totally blank.  I have no idea what I want to do, and I just feel kind of off.

Another thing that has been on my mind ALOT lately has been makeup and all things beauty related...skincare, haircare, all that good stuff.  I've wanted to blog a little about a few makeup products I have but I don't want to disappoint all of my loyal followers who come here to see nails and nothing else.  Would you guys be upset if I mixed in a makeup post once in a while?  Please tell me honestly what you think.  I do all of this for you lovely people and if you don't want it I certainly will not do it.  Anyone care to share their thoughts on this?  Young Wild and Polished will always be a nail blog but I wouldn't mind a little makeup and skincare in the mix, would you?

Ok now that I got that out, let's talk nails...

I did this little stamping mani last night on a whim.  I couldn't decide what to do, as I said above, I was in my usual funk.  But I just bought this gorgeous color I'm about to show you and I actually felt a little spark of inspiration once I put her on!  I even thought about back handing someone's mama, ahhh what a glorious feeling!

So this is Sonia Kashuk Sitting Pretty, the color I started out with...

Please don't mind the disgusting slice out of my index finger, I had a fight with a knife and as you can see....I lost!  It's healing but it's there and I'm very sorry, I know it looks like a hot mess!

Isn't this color just gorgeous? Look at that shimmer!  As soon as I applied this I wanted to do a little jig.  I felt like putting on the Lil Wayne and getting downright freak nasty.  When a polish makes me want to dance, I know it's a winner winner chicken dinner!

Knowing me, I couldn't leave this alone.  I had to do something to it and I knew just the thing!  I pulled out my Nails Inc Old Park Lane and got crackin.

I freaking love this one coat wonder!  Formula is perfection and 1 coaters make me want to beat the neighbor's baby.  

Combined with the beautiful and shimmery Sitting Pretty could be a match made in polish heaven!

I used Bundle Monster Plate #203.  I must say I really love this combination.  The rose gold meshes so well with the shimmery purple.  And can I just say I have been totally obsessed, OBSESSED with rose gold anything lately.  I got a watch for my birthday of the rose gold variety and that seemed to put me on a path of total rose gold addiction.  (If I say the word rose gold one more time I am going to punch myself out)

I have been using a new cuticle oil lately.  Brace yourselves ladies and gentlemen, it's quite pricey.  I originally got it to use as a facial oil, which I do, but I have found it works really well on my cuticles also.  (Or this is just my way to get to talk about products other than nail polish, hmmmm)

This, as you can see, is the Tarte Maracuja Oil and I am totally in love with the stuff.  This large bottle ran me about $35 which for the size, isn't too bad I guess.  It's such a nice oil if you have super dry skin as I do.  I slather myself in this stuff.  It has also been doing really nicely on my cuticles.  They seem quite happy and moisturized.  I haven't slapped anyone's mama over this stuff but I may start.  The mood may strike at anytime, who knows.

I know it's a little pricey, just wanted to throw it in there.  If you want something super cheap that works like a dream, you can always head to your Walmart or local grocery store and pick up some coconut oil.  The stuff is absolutely mama smacking wonderful.  It's in the aisle with the cooking oil and it will make your cuticles so soft and happy! I posted a picture of it on my Instagram and we all had a long discussion about the things this miracle product can do so you guys can check that out if you're interested! 

If you guys would like to see a post dedicated to coconut oil and it's many uses, just let me know and I will get my buns to work on that!  It's great for nail care and also for many many other things!

Nails Inc Leather Effect.....and a stop on Baker St.

Hi dolls, everyone making it through the week ok?  I'm already looking forward to the weekend!  I have 2 sick kids and I'm just waiting for it to hit me.  Gotta love winter and kids who love to share all their germs with mom and dad!  They're so generous! Little farts!

I am super excited to share this mani with you guys today.  As most of you know, I am not the greatest stamper.  I recently purchased a Bundle Monster stamper and the necessary extras (basically just plates) but I haven't quite mastered this art just yet.

Stamping basically is applying polish over a small design that is etched on a little round "plate", scraping off the excess polish, dipping your stamper onto the design and pressing it onto the nail.  I will have a more in depth post coming up on stamping and I will take pictures of all my gear and show you guys.

I used Nails Inc. Baker St and Nails Inc. Leather Effect.  I really really love both of these polishes!  I am not a huge fan of textured polishes such as the Liquid Sand polishes by OPI because the texture kinda kills me and they chip so bad immediately after I put them on.  This is probably the 4th time I've worn Leather Effect and it has not chipped at all and I actually really like the texture.  Even though it is a textured polish, it's really smooth.  I know, it makes no sense. But when you rub your finger along the nail, it's a little bumpy but nothing is sticking up off of the nail.  Application is a dream, this polish applies so smooth.  It is also very pigmented, I used 2 coats for this and there was no dragging or pulling and the Leather Effect dries super quick. I will definitely be using this edgy polish for many things!  If you were on the fence about this one, I highly recommend getting it!  

Baker St is certainly a mama slapper!  Totally opaque in 2 coats, she is so smooth and vibrant!  Easily my favorite cobalt blue, and trust me I have a LOT of them!  I love this shade of blue with black polish! Just looking at my nails makes me want to beat the piss out of someone (in the nicest possible way of course).

I used Bundle Monster Stamp #210 to get the look on my first 2 fingers.  I used Layla Ceramic Effect Pure Black as my stamping polish.  I don't know if this polish would normally work for stamping but because mine is getting low, it has thickened up a bit and worked really well for me.

I don't know if the stamping gods were watching me last night and just felt bad because I am so pathetic at stamping, but for some reason I had a really easy go of it.  Or I guess it could be because I am actually getting good at stamping?  Naaaah, I'll go with what's behind door number 1 Bob. 

I must tell you, I still have this mani on and I really don't want to take it off (but I will because my new KB Shimmers came in the mail, eeeek).

Someone's been playing with the Stamper!!

I know this is a very weird time for even me to be posting but I can't sleep....I officially can say I have insomnia.  I am up all night and then want to sleep all day....not a good schedule for someone who has 3 kids to wake at 6am and a full time job that starts at 8.  It's really flippin annoying to just lay here when I could be accomplishing something, so eff you insomnia, I'm being productive and there isn't shit you can do about it.  I'll show this mother fluffer who's boss.

Ok nails, yes nails....so this weekend I decided to get out my arch nemesis  (insert *gasp* here), the dreaded stamper and try my hand at it yet again.  Whaddya know, all those YouTube videos paid off.  Somone didn't fail miserably and crumble into a heap of big stinkin loser crap....nooooo, someone put on their big girl panties and fucking learned to stamp! (By the way, I hate bitches that talk in 3rd person, this insomnia is really a nasty bitch making me go against myself and all.

I pulled out the one stamp I have been dying to use and prayed that I could finally do the combo I have been dreaming of for months....and it worked!!  This mani has been on the brain since I got this bastard stamping set, have a look, after all you have waited long enough!

SO GOOD YOU WANNA SLAP YOUR MAMMY!!!  Not good as in, "My name's Nicole and I am a bad ass bitch, you all can sniff my butt as I rise to the top", but good as in, "I have been working on this shit for months and I finally got it and now I get to share it with all my lovelies on the blog". 

Yeah??  Yeah!!!  As soon as my Bundle Monster stamping set arrived, I went through my plates and saw BM Plate 215 and knew this little sass master was the girl for me.  I immediately wanted to pair it with red and sparkles and make it matte.  And gosh darnit that's just what I did!

My index and middle finger are covered in the gorgeousness that is OPI Liquid Sand in Stay the Night from the recently released Mariah Carey Collection. I didn't think I would like the grittiness of these polishes but I don't mind it too much. I fought the urge to topcoat and left them how they are meant to be.  I have all of the LS polishes and this is my fave, even though I think they are all pretty bad ass! I promise I will eventually get those swatches up for you patient and loving followers (sounds so cult like, I dig) of mine. 

Thumb and pinky are Layla Softouch Effects in Pure Black.  Actually the Layla bottles don't have names on them and I couldn't find a definite answer for my search at 4 am so we are going with pure black for now.  Softouch simply is neither glossy nor matte but kind of an in between.  It's the coolest finish ever!  I didn't use any topcoat for these nails (which killed me) but I didn't want to lose the effect.

Ring finger is Revlon Valentine and, as I stated, before Bundle Monster Plate 215.  I did use a matte topcoat on this nail after a coat of Seche Vite (for glossiness and to protect the stamp for dragging).  

I hope you guys like this mani as much as I enjoyed creating it!  I am so so so excited to be dipping my perfectly manicured toes into the world of stamping. Now that I'm getting the hang of it, the mani's running through my head are probably why I am awake right now at 5:12 am!
