OPI Liquid Sand Nail Art...and Giving Thanks!

Hello my little turkeys....yes I have Thanksgiving on the brain! I am waking up at 5 and shoving a big ass bird into my oven. Just another day at the YWP compound!

So I sat down to do my nails and surprisingly I was in the mood for sparkles....but dark sparkles. I was a bit perplexed until I remembered one little beauty of mine that would work perfectly!

To create this hot mama, I used Essie Glamour Purse as a base on every nail except my ring finger. This beauty is quickly nudging Mink Muffs out of the #1 spot of my most loved brown polish. I was never one for murky browns but for some reason we now are best friends and even wearing matching outfits....can you say twinning?

I then pulled out the star of the show....OPI What Wizardry is This? and got down to bid-nass! I taped off my index and pinky nails with striping tape and applied one thin layer of WWIT. My middle finger was happy to sport some simple dots and we left it at that! I loved this color so much that I had to put it on my ring finger all by itself. Sometimes polishes are so gorgeous that they should be left untouched and this baby beater is one of those shades. I cannot wait to do a full mani with just this color.

So you're probably thinking....um excuse me woman but why is your Liquid Sand polish not liquid sandy at all? I couldn't resist...I had to pull out the Seche Vite and gloss everything up! I do like this one as a textured polish but tonight I was craving sparkles (which is rare so I had to ride that train as far as I could) and I knew top coating her would result in glittery brown goodness.

Can you even stand how beautiful this polish is? I do feel a bit bad showing this hot mama off considering it was in a collection that was out quite a while ago...Oz The Great and Powerful to be exact. Buuuuuut....I checked online and this is readily available on Amazon and Ebay so if you need a fix a fix you shall have!

I haven't used too many textured polishes but out of the ones I have tried, this sexpot has the best formula by far of any of them!! This polish basically applies itself! If you love textured polishes, WWIT is a must have! Put down the turkey leg and get to shopping!

For all of my American peeps, have a kick ass Thanksgiving!! This year I am thankful for 3 healthy children who keep me stepping and a husband who adores me! I also am incredibly thankful for all of you. As cliche as it sounds, I can't imagine my life without all of you and I thank God everyday for the success I am having in the beauty world and the loyal people who come with it!! I tell you guys all the time how much I love you and I honestly do! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the inspiration, encouragement and friendship that you have all brought into my life! I'm thoroughly enjoying every second of the roller coaster ride that is Young Wild and Polished!!

Phew, this was a long one....lol that's what she said....sorry....couldn't resist.

Happy Polishing dolls!!

Everything but the Kitchen Sink Nail Art...

Hello my kittens, can you believe 2 posts in 2 days....am I running a fever or what?? Nope, just addicted to my new laptop...I swear I could post 10 blogs a day just so I could play on Maxine (yes she has a name....address her correctly or face the consequences)!

For some reason I find myself reserving my blog for nail art and my YouTube channel seems to be mostly about makeup (with a bit of polish thrown in). This is just how my pin sized brain works....I really need to merge the 2....can I make a New Year's resolution in November? Tomorrow's video is going to be my November favorites so I think it would be the perfect time to get these 2 working together....stay tuned to see me try to get my shit together!

Alright, enough talky talky, let's get to the naily naily...oh Lord that was cheese ball even for me!

So this is what happens when I can't make up my mind about nail art....

A little kitchen sink mani for my friends....if you aren't familiar with the term, allow me to explain! A kitchen sink mani is basically a name I came up with for nail art that includes everything but the dang kitchen sink. It's my most favorite kind of nail art to do....for one, I can never make up my mind, and two, I love the chaos that is a KSM.

For this lovely lady we have some stripes done with (of course) striping tape, a little splatter, glitter and dots, because every good KSM includes dots!!

On my index finger, I started with a base of Essie Blanc, topped that with Seche Vite and once it was dry, I laid down striping tape and finished off with Nails Inc. Black Taxi. I will link my striping tape tutorial at the end for those of you interested.

My ring finger is a splatter mani, the easiest type of nail art to do! I used Nails Inc. Baker St, Essie Mojito Madness and Nails Inc. Black Taxi.

On my thumb I dotted some hella large dots on a black base using Sinful Colors Sail la Vie.

OPI Crown Me Already on my pinky and Essie She's Pampered on my middle finger complete this chaotic little sugar bomb.

What do you guys think about KSM? Do you love em as much as I do? If you guys try this design please tag me on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #youngwildandpolished (as always).

Love you guys....hope you're all having a mama slapping good day! Punch a baby for me....just for good measure! We gotta keep those crying infants in check yo!

Happy Polishing my YWPeeps!!

Nail Art...and a Life Update!

No I have not died, I know you all probably think I fell off the face of the Earth but alas I am alive and well. To be honest, I have been so overwhelmed with my quickly growing YouTube channel that a few things have taken a back seat. Sadly my blog was one of those things!

My Macbook was also on it's last leg and finally died last week. I am now the proud mother of a Macbook Pro and I couldn't be happier. Now that I have a functioning computer, blogging will be much easier for me! As most of you know, I am obsessed with Instagram....so the best way to keep in touch with me and up to date on my nail art is to follow me over there! It's the same everywhere....YoungWildandPolished! I am going to try to be a better blogger. I'd really like to do posts that coincide with my videos and Instagram posts....hopefully I can get my shizz together and stop neglecting all of you love bugs! I promise it is nothing personal!

And lastly....I do plan to do a major overhaul on this blog. I swear I haven't updated for years! So look for that in the upcoming month or so!

Ok, enough about me and my sucky no blogging ways....let's get into the nail art!!

Tonight I have 2 super simple nail designs to share with you all. I have done nail art every single day this week. I think I was feeling sorry for myself since I couldn't film or do any "YouTubing" so I tried to make up for it with tons of nail art!

What are this? A water marble?? Yes my friends! I finally got my act together and took it back to the nail art that started this whole nail polish love affair! I don't know why but I really got out of doing water marbling. I must say I am a bit rusty but I really love how this turned out!

I used Essie Glamour Purse which is a goooooorgeous brown shade with a formula worthy of slapping a sleeping infant. I also mixed in a little Navigate Her also by my beloved Essie. These 2 beauties on a base of basic white polish is enough to make me get out the sledgehammer and put bitches to sleep! I know, I know....violence all the time, I just can't control myself!

I threw some dots on my pinky and called it a day!

Next up we have.....

Splatter time y'all!

Ok first of all, can we talk about these colors? Since I've been MIA from blogging, I have fallen in love with a few select polishes and these 2 vampy shades are at the front of the mama slappin line! I'm talking to you Malbec and Loden Green! They are both from Sally Hansen and let me tell you what....they are amaze balls!! Loden Green is a dirty camo green that teeters on that line between "ew that's ugly" and "oh my God I think I died and went to polish heaven"! The formula is really nice, totes opaque in 2 coats. Malbec is also pretty perfect! Deep, vampy but not so dark that it looks black....my ideal fall shade!

For the splatter, I started with a base of Maybelline Canary Cool, a yellow based cream polish that makes me want to throw myself from a second story window! Then I grabbed my coffee stirrer straw and got down to bid-nass.....if you need some help with the whole splatter thing, I will link my tutorial below. It's so easy and pretty much goof proof! The messier the splatter, the cooler the nails look!

If you guys are interested in either of these Sally Hansen shades, they are currently on clearance at Target. I suggest picking them up now because they are limited edition *shudder*. Why is it that they make all the really good polishes and make up LI? I swear companies get satisfaction out of watching us drive 500 miles from our homes just to buy a bottle of limited edition polish.

Ok my muffins, that is all for today. Again I am sorry for neglecting this little blog but I am going to do my best to stay on top of things and be a better "beauty guru". I love you all and don't ever want you to feel that I am putting you guys on the back burner. My plate is full and I'm doing my best to give everyone a piece of the YWP pie. Yes I said YWP pie....

Happy Polishing my friends!!

WARNING....this is an old ass tutorial....but it gets the job done....don't judge me :)

My New Favorite Polish....and Of Course...Nail Art!

Hello lovers...I had to tear myself away from a Breaking Bad marathon to do this post but it's alright, I'm not bitter or anything. Kidding, kidding, keep your panties on kids. I AM obsessed with the show but it's on disk so all is well in the world of YWP.

The reason for this 2 am blogging fest is a polish...of course! I purchased this polish today and I am head over mother lovin heels for it!

Feast your eyeballs on this beauty...

This, my friends, is Sally Hansen Loden Green and it is my newest obsession! I'm referring to the poopy green color by the way. I guess it's more of an army green but for some reason all I can think of is a diaper when I look at it. And I'm ok with that!

Seriously though, this color is gorgeous...it's perfect for this time of year and has a kick ass formula to boot! 2 coats and a little Seche Vite and I was golden. I added a little splatter on my ring finger using Essie Licorice and Essie Blanc, along with the camo queen. My middle finger is Nails Inc Noho, a textured black that adds just the right amount of edge to this mani.

Loden Green is from Sally Hansen's new fall line. I must say I was not too impressed with the collection until I met this little gem. I will certainly be doing lots of vampy mani's with this beauty all season long!

Have you tried any colors from this line? Did I miss any winners? Fill me in yo!

Here's a splatter tutorial if you're interested in this nail art....it's an older one...try not to laugh!

Happy Polishing my friends!!

THE BALM also known as THE BOMB!

Hi loves, today I have a little makeup to share with you!

I finally got around to trying out some products from The Balm, a highend brand that for some reason, I have never had the opportunity to try out....until now!

This is going to be a brief over view of all of the lovely little goodies I purchased. I do have an entire video that goes along with this post which I will link below. You'll be able to see me use the products and of course, ramble my ass off as I always do!

By the way....The Balm and many other awesome makeup brands are now being carried at Kohl's. So all of you US kiddo's, get your buns in your car and get to shopping! Lorac, Pur Minerals, Borghese....the list goes on and on. Thank you Kohl's for making my dreams come true!! (of course I purchased these products on line directly from The Balm and THEN Kohl's decided to stock everything....my luck!). And no, I'm not being paid for mentioning Kohl's....I just have a shopping problem....Hi my name is Nicole and I'm a shopaholic.

Ahem, focus, focus....

First up let's talk eyes!

I have 2 awesome palettes to show you, I still can't decide which one I like better! Luckily I don't have to choose....

The palette that I decided to play with in my video is The Balm Jovi Palette which is so fun...packaging is adorbs and the shadows are buttery and super pigmented!

I love how they include a luminizer, a blush and 2 convertible cheek and lip shades. although when I used one of the lip/cheekers, I didn't get much of anything on ma lips!

 Just look at that pigmentation!

I am obsessed with this heart shaped mirror!

Suddenly I feel like busting out my neon leggings and getting my 80's on!  Anyone have a sweat band I can borrow?

Balm Jovi retails for $39.50

Next up is the perfect little palette for fall!  I'd like you all to....Meet Matt(e) Nude....

Aaagghh, I love this palette! The soft smokey shades are perfect for fall! I have swatched and played around with it a bit and let me tell you what....I cannot be held accountable for the violence that may come....it's out of my control! I am planning on doing an eye look with this beauty on my channel, so stay tuned for that!

Matt(e) retails for $42.

I also grabbed a few of their boxed blushes and 1 translucent powder....

My favorite blush that I got, a serious mama smacker, is Frat Boy:

I will not hesitate to punch a baby....I love the way this blush looks on me! It gives the perfect rosy glow without being overdone! Just the right amout of pigmentation and a beautiful pinky coral shade....I feel some violence coming on!

Frat Boy retails for $21.

The other blush I got, that I haven't tried yet, is just as gorgeous and perfect with any eye look!

Hot Mama is gonna make me feel like a hot mama when I wear it! I love the subtle shimmer that it has, could we double this as a highlighter? I vote yes!

Hot Mama retails for $20.

The only translucent powder of the bunch, sadly I wasn't too thrilled with this product. I've heard lots of people rave about it, but my dry skin just didn't mesh with the powder....but don't be deterred from trying it....my lizard skin just likes to be a little bit of a diva sometimes!

Sexy Mama contains anti shine spheres that some say keeps shine at bay for hours on end! I'm not a powder girl but if you are this may be a good one to try!

Sexy Mama retails for $20.

Next we have my most favorite type of makeup....an illuminator! Mary Lou-manizer is crazy stupid pigmented and goooo-geous!!

It doesn't look like much in the pan, but I can assure this little lady is amazing at drawing out those cheekbones and making you look like you just got home from the Caribbean with that perfect healthy glow. Catch me I'm falling!!

Mary Lou-manizer retails for $24.

My favorite product of the bunch happens to be the smallest....but what's that saying...good things come in small packages? It's certainly true in this case, this concealer is absolutely AMAZING!!!

Time Balm concealer is one of the best, if not the best concealer around! This product is creamy, covers dark circles and blemishes completely and stays put all dang day! There was not one ounce of cakiness on my face, which never happens, especially on my under eye area! I can easily see this becoming holy grail for me! If you only want to try one of these babies, I highly recommend this little lady!!

Time Balm retails for $18 and is worth every single penny!!!

Last and certainly least is Betty Lou-manizer, Mary's skanky cousin who I am not a fan of!

This shimmery bronzer had me looking quite muddy and on the verge of looking like an oompa loompa. Maybe it's just my olive skin tone, but me and Ms. Lou-manizer will not be having lunch any time soon!

Betty retails for $24.

Have you guys tried anything from this brand? What do you think? So far I'm loving it, I can't wait to get my hands on some more!

Take a peeky poo at my video....complete with bloopers!

Love you guys!!xo

Don't forget to visit me on Instagram....along with all of my other social networking sites! Instagram is my most used one and the site that I keep up with the most....

Flower Nail Art for the Seasons...and a special guest!

Hello my loves, I have to apologize for being away for a bit....life got a little cray cray with summer ending and school starting! Sadly this poor little blog seems to be the thing I neglect the most, and I need to stop doing that! On the plus side, if you ever miss me so much you can't stand it, you can always visit me on Instagram and YouTube....shameless plug....

I did manage to get some nail art done recently....for some reason, I've been back into my flowers! I've done 2 back to back manicures with those cute little guys! I go in phases with this design....some days I love it, other days I feel like it's blahhh....

The first mani is my "getting ready for fall" nails...

I never was one for red nails but lately they have been a slight obsession of mine! This combination made me want to punch a baby, but I resisted and instead decked my hubs...jk, I only slapped him and it was very light, everyone settle down!

I used OPI Dutch Tulips and Nails Inc. Porchester Square for this flowery number. Funny how a flower manicure reminds me of fall....it must be something about the darker colors.

Dutch Tulips is a gorgeous poppy red color, with a kick ass formula! OPI pretty much does everything right, I don't know that I have any OPI polishes that aren't really nice?! And Porchester Square is another polish that makes me want to go all Miley Cyrus on peeps. (No I don't want to twerk and hang my tongue out of my mouth like a mental patient, I just want to get a little bit crazy....good polish does that to me!) The formula is good and the color is a really nice mix between tan and grey....it's a great transition color for, yep you guessed it, fall, which I am dreading by the way. Can't it just be summer forever?

Speaking of summer.....

Yep, the same flowers but with a summery twist. I love a good aqua/coral mix, and this perddy girl had me getting out the boxing gloves!

I used Color Club Blue-Ming and Sally Hansen Coral Reef. Sadly I couldn't get Coral Reef to photograph true to color....she is not this dark in real life, maybe she's hiding from the cops or something, I don't know but she definitely was wearing a disguise in this pic! I let it slide because the formula is incredible! Smooth, buttery and perfectly opaque in 2 coats!

Too bad I can't say the same thing about little miss Blue-Ming. She battled me every step of the way, as she always does! But the color is so gorgeous and bright, that I let it slide! I used 3 coats for the above pic, 3 uneven spotty coats that did kind of even out once I slapped on a little magical Seche Vite. (Coral Reef only required 2).

I have to include this next pic, simply for the cute factor! My daughter Emma who just turned 12, finally stopped biting her nails....so this was her first official YWP mani! She was thrilled with it, and I promised her I would share it with all of my friends!

I used Wet n Wild Teal Slowly and See which I talk about in my most recent favorites video which I will link below. The formula is awesome, and the color....well...look at it, it's gorg! I also used Essie Blanc and Essie Licorice for the nail art! I topped everything with INM Northern Lights, which explains the pretty sparkle going on!

I am so proud of my little bean for breaking her nail biting habit....I'm sure this will not be the last time you see her cute little nails! She's becoming quite the nail freak, I don't know where she gets that from?!

Are you guys ready for fall? Or are you stuck in the middle like me? I'm ready for the dark, vampy colors that go with the colder weather, but I don't want the dark, sad nights that come along with it! And Christmas....psssh don't even get me started!

If you little muffins try out this flowery nail art, please tag me on Instagram! I love to see your recreations! (youngwildandpolished is the name, polish is the game)

Happy Polishing flower children!

Striping Tape Mania....and a Beautiful Bargain!

Hello friendships, hope you're all doing well, smacking mama's and such. I am doing great, especially after the little polish gem I found a few days ago....don't fret, you're getting in on the action right now!!

The 2 mani's I'm going to share started with one little polish that cost me a whopping dollar! I fell in love with the baby from the second I saw it sitting in Kmart all alone, just waiting to be taken home and loved.

Violence in a bottle!

It's so gorgeous, I just want to slap a newborn! This, my friends, is Wet n Wild Teal Slowly and See.... possibly the best bright blue polish I own....did I mention this cost as much as a Mcdonald's Double Cheeseburger?

The color is divine, I suddenly have the urge to pack up my super uncool tankini and head to the Caribbean! But....the formula is also perfect! Opaque in 2 coats, no streaking, no patchiness, just smooth buttery goodness!

This little lady is limited edition so get your pants on and get rollin. The Wet n Wild Pop Art Collection won't be around forever....you can bet the farm I'm stock piling this beauty!

This little vixen inspired 2 fun manicures....

It's been awhile since I've done a kitchen sink mani...everything but the kitchen sink...and I certainly satisfied my urge with this design!

My index and middle finger are just 2 different designs I made while playing around with the striping tape. Both had the pleasure of wearing Teal Slowly and See...on my index finger I started with a base of Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet and on my middle finger the base was Essie Blanc. My ring finger is a gradient of TSAS and Mint Sorbet. I topped it off with INM Northern Lights, a really pretty and subtle glitter topper.

My pinky finger is one of my favorite silver glitters, OPI Crown Me Already, a beautiful micro glitter with larger glittery pieces throughout. The formula is awesome, 2 coats and she's totes opaque...and oh so mama slappin shimmery!

Everything got a good smearing of Seche Vite and I was on to the next.

The next little number is another fun one....

Yep there's that blue beauty again!! And I had to add a little sass to it, you know me! Although this polish is so gorgeous, I'm just fine with wearing it alone!

On my middle finger, I layered on 2 coats of China Glaze Some Like It Haute, a beautiful black based glitter polish with silver flecks scattered all about.  I forgot how gorgeous this was...so glad I dusted her off and gave her some work! My ring finger is what I refer to as a "dry marble". It's extremely easy to do...simply put on your base color...a bit thicker than you normally would (black in this case) then immediately put droplets of another color (Teal Slowly) on your nail and swirl with a toothpick. It really is a simple design to do, the main part is getting the droplets blended while your base color is still nice and wet.

This is one of those designs that even if you mess up a bit, it still looks super cool....the dry marble is so forgiving!!

I've definitely found my polish obsession of the month! I could wear this polish everyday and be perfectly content (at least for a week or two, come on...this nail whore can only take so much)!!

What is your most recent polish obsession? When is the last time you had to slap someone over a gorgeous polish....think carefully, don't disappoint me...

Happy Polishing my loves!!
