Ahem...
A few weeks ago on SneakPeeq, (an amazing site by the way) they were selling a set of polishes from the OPI Shrek Collection that I had been wanting for a long time, so I ordered....and I received these little love muffins a few days ago. I was so excited to use them and I couldn't decided which one I wanted to play with first....so I used them all! Here's a pic of my pretty little babies and then we'll talk business!
Who the Shrek are You (Green)
Ogre the Top Blue (Bright Blue)
What's with the Cattitude? (Light Blue)
Dot (my alter ego and the biggest bitch you will ever meet) was feeling a little out of sorts because she hadn't gotten the chance to flex her muscle and use her dotting tools lately. So I let her come out and play, and play she did. The heffer went a little crazy....
Oh hello large picture that doesn't fit
I'm not going to get into major detail on the colors, I used them all on every finger. I alternated the base color and then used the 2 remaining colors to dot. I used my largest dotting tool for the big dots and one of my tinier dotters for the little "in between" dots.
The formula on all 3 of these polishes is quite nice, but they're OPI, the formula is always amazing! I did have to do 3 coats of Who the Shrek are You because it was a little thin. It was well worth it though! What a perfect color! I love the ones that are so ugly they're pretty! Can't wait to do a full mani with Ms. Ugly!
I did smack my momma when I pulled out What's with the Cattitude. I love this shade of blue and the formula was sweeeet!! I didn't go too crazy though, the poor woman is still laid up from my Layla Swatch Day! THAT was not a fun day, well for her, I must say I had a blast!
What do you guys think of this mani? Does it look like Shrek has a bad case of warts? Did Dot go overboard? If you are looking for a simple design to do, these dots are super simple! I put a few large dots spaced out, leaving a good amount of room in between. Then I add smaller sized dots in the remaining spaces. It really is fool proof!
Hope you guys enjoyed!
Happy Polishing Loves, thanks for letting Dot play!!
Amazing dots! I am so jealous of your beautiful technique. My dots look like a 3 year old painted them. Maybe someday... Practice makes perfect, right?!
ReplyDeleteAw thank u!! Yes practice does make perfect-or at least better. Haha
DeleteHoly Dot! Ok I'm curious, which mani did the bitchy barista argue with you about??
ReplyDeleteHaha, the flowered one I recently did on a green base, with the big white flowers accent nail. She really thought I was lying!!
DeleteI'm with Pink. Wanna know which mani the barista doubted.
ReplyDeleteAlso, love this color combination and your excellent dotting skills. Awesome.
I just posted it above to pink pamala ^^^^ thank you for the compliments, you are so sweet!!
DeleteThe heffer has style! You should let her out to play more often. True bitchiness is a talent that must be exercized...often or it can atrophy. That would be sad.
ReplyDeleteAs for the clueless bee-yatch...I've got my rubber chicken, let's go pound some meat! Really, don't let jealous, untalented peeps get to you. I bet way more folks go KEWL! than Really? when they see your fantabulous nails, Dahling!
As always, ur the best!! Thank you so much!!! And what did you ahem....say u were doing with that rubber chicken?!?!
DeleteI LOVE this dotticure!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!!
DeleteI hate when people are rude about your nails! I always have people trying to tell me my nails are fake ummmmm no I think I would realise if my skin just started growing acrylics out of my fingertips! RAR!!
ReplyDeleteOn the flip side, I really really hate when I have a totally awesome mani or nail colour on and NO ONE EVEN NOTICES! I often comment on people's nail polish just to encourage them to look at mine and give the obligatory "Oh I love your nail polish too". Doesn't happen! What is wrong with the world!
Yes I know what you mean!! Either way I guess it's good if they're looking at my nails eh?!
