Colores de Carol....and a new laptop!

Hi friends, yes I have been MIA and I am so sorry for that!  My laptop broke after a super cute little boy accidentally dropped it on the floor.  It was already on it's last leg and this just gave me a good excuse to buy a new one.  So I'm back and I'm ready to review!  Lots of fun stuff coming this weekend and a great review for you guys tonight of some gorgeous indie's done by a sweet chica I like to call a friend!

Colores de Carol is a brand owned by, you guessed it Carol.  It's a fairly new brand but she is kicking out polishes like an old hat!  I have to say every polish I am showing you guys today was a dream to apply and one was more unique than the next. Not to mention, the bottles that hold these awesome glitter babies are some of the prettiest I have seen.  I love attention to detail like that and Carol has it down pat!

First up we have Leggings and Martinis:

Yep I revealed a little secret in that first pic....I don't paint my thumb when swatching, guilty as charged!

How gorgeous and perfect is this polish?  I knew the second I saw this on another blogger that it would be mine.  The formula was perfect and the glitters just fell into place.  I did use a black base to save precious polish and to get that super dark black color.  You certainly could just do a few coats of the polish without undies, the black wasn't necessary, just something I did to conserve!  The black jelly base on it's own isn't quite as dark as if you use a base but just as gorgeous. Whatever floats your little polish filled boat!  A nice thick coat of Seche Vite topped everything off.

I am totally in love with this sexy mama and I'm not ashamed to say it.  I did do some mama smacking, as a matter of fact I'm gonna do some more just looking at these hot ass pictures.

Next up is Blueberry Mango Smoothie:

Ok, why the flip is the first picture ginormous.  Why can't I be a technology geek like some of my blogger friends?

Blueberry Mango Smoothie is a creamy tan base with the cutest orange squares and tiny blue glitters. For some reason this polish reminds me of carrot cake everytime I look at it.  Must be the orange specks.  I love how soft and delicate this one looks even though it is packed full of glitter.  I have this on my toes right now and my 9 year old son Nicholas came up to me the other day and said, "mama you are the only mommy I know who wears sparkles on their toes.  It was the sweetest thing ever.  That baby melts my heart just like this polish did!

I love the irony of this polish.  Glitter at every twist and turn yet she is so demure and soft.  Easily one of the prettiest polishes I have seen in 2013.

OPI Did You Ear about Van Goh was my base for this lovely lady. It matched perfectly with this polish and didn't take the focus off of the star of the show....what else?? Glitter!  2 easy coats and a coat of Seche Vite topped everything off.

CupCake Fantasy:

Someone get behind me.....cause I'm about to faint!  I freaking love this polish.  This is just 3 thin coats of CF, no undies in sight.  I absolutely love all the glitter in this!  The milky white base is gorgeous with black, blue and orange glitters of different sizes running through it.  There also are some iridescent squares that add just a little kick, a perfect touch that I never would have thought of!

I loved this baby so much I had to do some nail art with it.....

I used Illamasqua Lament as the base for my ring finger.  I topped it with Seche Vite and let that dry.  I then taped off the shapes with striping tape and filled them in with Sally Hansen Please Sea Me and just basic black and white.  The round circle I did with my largest dotting tool.

My pinky finger is a cloud mani using the same polishes minus the black.  There is a tutorial on my YouTube page if you're interested in how to do this.

I can't even stand myself....I love this manicure so much. I got so many compliments on this look.  The girl at Starbucks damn near ripped my arm off when I grabbed my Salted Caramel Mocha off the counter.

Overall I am very impressed with the quality and imagination that went into these polishes.  I will most definitely be ordering more from Carol.

Check out her shop, I linked it above and make sure to pay special attention to your bottles when you receive them.  They are divine!

Happy Polishing Lovebugs!!

  3. Hahahaha, I don't paint my thumb for swatches either. ^_^ I am always so embarrassed by the pictures that tell on me, so I never use them.

These polishes are all very gorgeous!
