Skittle Sponge

Good evening nail lovers. Today has been a looong day! Glad to be home and in my jammies. On the plus side, I did stop at Sephora and pick up a few things. We don't have a full store close to us, but they just opened a Sephora in our JCPenney's. That will have to quench my thirst....for now. I know this isn't a beauty blog but I'm so excited about my purchases, I have to tell someone and my husband looked at me as if I had 6 heads when I started talking girlie.  I picked up a yummy new body wash/shampoo called Field Of Flowers from Philosophy, a back up of my Nars Orgasm blush, (this was the one time my hubby's face perked up, ahem) and a new Philosophy hand and cuticle cream. I also grabbed a  Sugar Rose Lip Balm. If you have never tried this baby, you are missing out. It is one of Sephora's best sellers. Now it is a little pricey ($22.50) but it is worth every penny, and it will last you forever!!

Ok, back to the important stuff....nails!! Last night I was feeling a little wild so I decided to do a skittle mani. It was cute but it was missing something....so I pulled out the sponges. And boy, am I glad I did. It was just what I needed. Please don't crucify me for these pics. For some crazy reason, I didn't take pictures last night so I had to snap a few at work. Horrible lighting and tip wear from typing all day didn't add up to greatness. You can still see the cute design though...

The orange in the pinky finger looked a lot better IRL. I must have taken 40 pics and just couldn't get it to show up.

And here's a little peek at my rarely seen right hand. I really liked how the green turned out and wanted you guys to see it!

I used a ton of polishes for this.
Lighter color is listed first:

Blues- Essie Lilacism (obviously labeled wrong, I'm really not sure what it is but it is a pretty baby blue) and Sally Hansen Pacific Blue

Green- OPI Gargantuan Green Grape and Essie Mojito Madness

Pink- Essie Off the Shoulder and Sally Hansen Fuchsia Power

Purple- Essie Lilacism (the REAL one, gorgeous) and Sally Hansen Good to Grape

Orange- Zoya Wednesday and Essie Orange It's Obvious mixed with a drop of  OPI I Eat Mainly Lobster

Told you it was a lot!! Here's what was left in the wake of my destruction.

Can you say hot ass mess?!

I love the look of this mani and it is pretty simple to do but it sure does take a lot of time. Maybe it's just me but whenever I sponge I end up making such a mess. If all my sponges were beer cans, it would look like a frat house after a rockin night!

Hope you kids enjoyed my version of the Skittle Mani!! Here's a little teaser for tomorrow night....China Glaze Bohemian Collection. I'm getting ready to swatch these pretties right now! Night loves!
