Everything but the Kitchen Sink Nail Art...

Hello my kittens, can you believe 2 posts in 2 days....am I running a fever or what?? Nope, just addicted to my new laptop...I swear I could post 10 blogs a day just so I could play on Maxine (yes she has a name....address her correctly or face the consequences)!

For some reason I find myself reserving my blog for nail art and my YouTube channel seems to be mostly about makeup (with a bit of polish thrown in). This is just how my pin sized brain works....I really need to merge the 2....can I make a New Year's resolution in November? Tomorrow's video is going to be my November favorites so I think it would be the perfect time to get these 2 working together....stay tuned to see me try to get my shit together!

Alright, enough talky talky, let's get to the naily naily...oh Lord that was cheese ball even for me!

So this is what happens when I can't make up my mind about nail art....

A little kitchen sink mani for my friends....if you aren't familiar with the term, allow me to explain! A kitchen sink mani is basically a name I came up with for nail art that includes everything but the dang kitchen sink. It's my most favorite kind of nail art to do....for one, I can never make up my mind, and two, I love the chaos that is a KSM.

For this lovely lady we have some stripes done with (of course) striping tape, a little splatter, glitter and dots, because every good KSM includes dots!!

On my index finger, I started with a base of Essie Blanc, topped that with Seche Vite and once it was dry, I laid down striping tape and finished off with Nails Inc. Black Taxi. I will link my striping tape tutorial at the end for those of you interested.

My ring finger is a splatter mani, the easiest type of nail art to do! I used Nails Inc. Baker St, Essie Mojito Madness and Nails Inc. Black Taxi. 

On my thumb I dotted some hella large dots on a black base using Sinful Colors Sail la Vie. 

OPI Crown Me Already on my pinky and Essie She's Pampered on my middle finger complete this chaotic little sugar bomb.

A Kitchen Sink Mani does a Body Good!

What a day!  I'm so glad to be home in my jammies getting ready to paint my nails and watch a little Dexter!  It has been pouring buckets here all day.  Ahhh good Pennsylvania weather, can't beat it!

So today's mani is the result of me purchasing a few new colors and not being able to wait to wear them.  Instead of wearing just one as a normal person would, I had to incorporate both of them into this mani.  It's the impatient Greek in me, what can I say?

But I do love how it turned out....

I originally was going to stamp something on my ring finger but I think the flowers turned out quite cute!

Colors used were: China Glaze Glistening Snow (pinky)

                            Revlon Urban (Navy)

                            Julie G Damsel (Pink)

                            OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (White)

So after a little momma smacking and kid beating, I realized that I really love pink and navy together. Revlon Urban is nice because it's not quite a deep dark navy.  Sometimes when I wear a dark blue, it ends up just looking like black and this one actually kept its nice vibrant blue color.  Urban is new from Revlon and is part of the Urban Nights/Bubblegum Days Collection.  This little lady has been outshadowed by Girly and Heavenly, 2 super fun glitters that seem to be fan favorites.  If you come across this collection make sure to pay attention to the nice creme colors and not just the glitter babies!  Urban is definitely a nice addition to any polish stash.  I can easily say it is unique in my collection!

Damsel is one of the newer polishes from Julie G.  This brand can be found at Rite Aid and is quite inexpensive but you would never know it from their polishes.  With creamy super saturated colors, you easily could confuse these for a much pricier polish.  I have yet to be disappointed with a polish from this line.  I probably have about 25 of them and I love every single one, color and formula!  And spending less than $4 for a bottle of polish....yeah...count me in!

Someone's been playing with the Stamper!!

I know this is a very weird time for even me to be posting but I can't sleep....I officially can say I have insomnia.  I am up all night and then want to sleep all day....not a good schedule for someone who has 3 kids to wake at 6am and a full time job that starts at 8.  It's really flippin annoying to just lay here when I could be accomplishing something, so eff you insomnia, I'm being productive and there isn't shit you can do about it.  I'll show this mother fluffer who's boss.

Ok nails, yes nails....so this weekend I decided to get out my arch nemesis  (insert *gasp* here), the dreaded stamper and try my hand at it yet again.  Whaddya know, all those YouTube videos paid off.  Somone didn't fail miserably and crumble into a heap of big stinkin loser crap....nooooo, someone put on their big girl panties and fucking learned to stamp! (By the way, I hate bitches that talk in 3rd person, this insomnia is really a nasty bitch making me go against myself and all.

I pulled out the one stamp I have been dying to use and prayed that I could finally do the combo I have been dreaming of for months....and it worked!!  This mani has been on the brain since I got this bastard stamping set, have a look, after all you have waited long enough!

SO GOOD YOU WANNA SLAP YOUR MAMMY!!!  Not good as in, "My name's Nicole and I am a bad ass bitch, you all can sniff my butt as I rise to the top", but good as in, "I have been working on this shit for months and I finally got it and now I get to share it with all my lovelies on the blog". 

Yeah??  Yeah!!!  As soon as my Bundle Monster stamping set arrived, I went through my plates and saw BM Plate 215 and knew this little sass master was the girl for me.  I immediately wanted to pair it with red and sparkles and make it matte.  And gosh darnit that's just what I did!

My index and middle finger are covered in the gorgeousness that is OPI Liquid Sand in Stay the Night from the recently released Mariah Carey Collection. I didn't think I would like the grittiness of these polishes but I don't mind it too much. I fought the urge to topcoat and left them how they are meant to be.  I have all of the LS polishes and this is my fave, even though I think they are all pretty bad ass! I promise I will eventually get those swatches up for you patient and loving followers (sounds so cult like, I dig) of mine. 

Thumb and pinky are Layla Softouch Effects in Pure Black.  Actually the Layla bottles don't have names on them and I couldn't find a definite answer for my search at 4 am so we are going with pure black for now.  Softouch simply is neither glossy nor matte but kind of an in between.  It's the coolest finish ever!  I didn't use any topcoat for these nails (which killed me) but I didn't want to lose the effect.

Ring finger is Revlon Valentine and, as I stated, before Bundle Monster Plate 215.  I did use a matte topcoat on this nail after a coat of Seche Vite (for glossiness and to protect the stamp for dragging).  

I hope you guys like this mani as much as I enjoyed creating it!  I am so so so excited to be dipping my perfectly manicured toes into the world of stamping. Now that I'm getting the hang of it, the mani's running through my head are probably why I am awake right now at 5:12 am!

A Little Kitchen Sink Monday!

Hi piglets, how are we on this crap ass Monday morning? Blah, I hate Monday's!! My kids drag, I drag, people drive like poop heads....what is it about Monday's that make people act like idiots?

So anywhoo, today I have another kitchen sink mani to share with you. It didn't start off as a kitchen sinker but thats how it turned out. I actually really like it so hopefully you guys will too. If not, too bad you're stuck with me either way!

Ring finger is Essie She's Pampered with Icing Shredded glitter on top-same on thumb.
Middle finger-splatter mani done with base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Zoya Yummy, Lime Crime Pastelchio and Layla Pure Black are my splatter colors.

Kitchen Sink Saturdays....literally??

Hi love muffins, I'm kind of excited tonight and I'll tell you why....my momma stopped by with bagfuls and bagfuls of makeup and fun stuff for her one and only child!  (Pics on Instagram, of course).  I have so many goodies to play with this weekend, I'm quite excited!  After all the mama slapping I have done to that poor woman, this is how I'm rewarded!  I knew secretly she enjoyed it!

So today we are talking kitchen sink mani's.  I posted a while ago and let you guys know that a few of us were doing "Kitchen Sink Saturdays" which is basically posting your mish mash, little bit of everything mani to Twitter, Instagram, your blog, wherever you choose!

For those of you not aware, a kitchen sink mani is a manicure that includes everything "but the kitchen sink".  It's a glitter nail and a polka dot nail, or a pink nail and a blue and a purple, gradients....yeah you guys get the picture.  So be sure to use the hashtag #kitchensinksaturday and get those mani's posted! And be sure to check out my homies Amanda, Inky and Wes who will also be joining in.

Here's a cheeky little picture I took to introduce everyone to Kitchen Sink Saturday....with what else....the kitchen sink!

I know I'm looking a little "orangey" in these pics, but I had to use weird lighting to try to get the purple to show up correctly, and I repeat, try!  No I didn't go Jersey Shore on everyone!

I used Sation Miss Emo Shun All for my base color.  She is such a gorgeous purple that dries to a matte rubbery finish but comes alive with topcoat. This picture has been filtered to show the true color of the polish--she was a real bitch to photograph, I tell ya!

Holy shit, from orange to vampire white, you're killin it tonight Nicole!  It's not my fault though, I'm blaming this whore of a polish.  And I mean that in the nicest possible way!

I used Milani Silver Stilettos for my silver accents.  The glitter gradient on my middle finger was done with China Glaze Polarized.  I must admit I threw this together at the last minute realizing I had nothing prepared for KSS.  I am quite happy with how the bitch turned out!

Here's another kitchen sink mani I posted on Instagram the other day.  She's so cute I just couldn't leave her out. So you guys get double KSS today...I'm feeling quite generous, take it while you can get it!

I must admit I slapped the taste out of my momma's mouth over this one, I was quite happy with how she turned out!  I used a crap load of polishes so I will just list them for you one by one.  Otherwise I will talk forever, you guys know how I get, slappin mama's and shit.

Kitchen Sink Mani's Make Me Happy!!

Fuck a duck, I am feeling good today!!l
I have ma new dotted flats on, I'm having a good hair day and the sun is shining. What more could a girl ask for? A great mani to go along with it you say?? Well you are in luck my loves....

I was on Instagram the other day-surprise surprise-and I saw this adorable mani done by Lissa from Lissa's Polish Addiction. I knew immediately I had to recreate it.

I used Sweet Lavender from Rimmel for my main color. I love this color so much and the formula is a crelly!! A cream and a jelly mix for those of you not down with the lingo. Hehe. I used 3 easy coats for my photos.

My ring finger is China Glaze Glistening Snow, one of my all time favorite glitters. Application was a breeze as usual! I love a good silver glitter. Makes me wanna slap the taste out of someone's mouth!!

A little sparkle, a little leopard and a few polka dots and we have ourselves a winner winner chicken dinner!!!
